Two distinct pen products, not two pack sizes of the same model: Tide To Go and Dryel On-The-Go. This limited shortlist uses only the two evidenced references above, not an exhaustive market survey. Order follows the unchanged review-and-documentation formula, not a stain-removal test.
Tide shows 4.7/5 and 74,316 pooled family reviews on the captured listing; these are not independent reviews of this 3-count pack. Its editorial 9.4/10 blends that family-level signal with exact-listing documentation. Dryel shows 4.5/5 and 704 reviews on its captured listing; we do not assert that every review concerns the exact package. Counts are displayed rounded down to hundreds above 1,000. Neither score measures cleaning results.
The Tide family observation is scoped to this comparison; older catalog observations and existing comparison rankings are unchanged. Carry and application choices
Tide: blot excess, press the tip to release solution and gently work the microfiber pad as the exact label directs. Dryel: its listed two-step method starts with removing excess and putting an absorbent napkin behind the mark, then squeezing, using the soft-touch tip and blotting. Do not infer suitability from the words dry-clean safe in a seller title. For prohibited, delicate or unknown fabrics, pause and consult a cleaner.

Where a listing has no documented spec-fit inputs, our documentation completeness score is 100 × [0.5 × min(documented feature bullets / 8, 1) + 0.3 × min(product images / 5, 1) + 0.2 × (brand documented ? 1 : 0)], rounded to a whole number and shown as a 0–10 rating. Every input is read from the stored Amazon listing record, so the same listing always produces the same score. This measures how completely the listing is documented — it is not a performance test, a quality measurement or a customer review.
Where Amazon publicly displays customer reviews for a listing (average star rating and review count captured from the public product page), the raw editorial score is 100 × [0.45 × (Amazon average / 5) × min(review count / 50, 1) + 0.35 × min(log10(1 + review count) / log10(1 + 5000), 1) + 0.20 × documentation score / 100]. The confidence factor min(review count / 50, 1) damps averages based on very few reviews, and the logarithmic volume term rewards large public review volumes, so widely and highly reviewed listings rank ahead of thinly reviewed ones. Listings with no captured public review data use the documentation score alone. This combined index reflects the public Amazon reputation and the listing documentation — it is not a physical test and not our own product testing.
The displayed editorial rating is the raw blended score divided by 10, shown to one decimal on a 0-10 scale. There is no catalog normalization, rank interpolation, forced winner, forced floor or artificial gap. Equal scores remain equal: the available data does not justify a distinction. Ranking uses the unmodified raw score descending, then listing slug for exact ties; slug is a stable identifier, not a quality signal. The same raw score always has the same display rating in every shortlist. This is not a physical test result or an Amazon customer rating.
Limits and checks before buying
Read the care label and product label and spot-test a hidden area before any permitted treatment. Stop if dye transfers or the texture changes. A label prohibition takes priority over a successful-looking spot test.
Never mix cleaning products. Bleach must not be mixed with ammonia, acids or other cleaners. Keep containers labeled and follow ventilation, storage and protective-equipment instructions. Ask a professional cleaner about dry-clean-only, valuable or unknown materials.
